Responsibilities
Execute security trading on behalf of institutional and retail clients based on equity research relating to fixed income investments:
• Buy and sell securities for clients or institutions
• Continuously monitor the market conditions and remain updated on the current market trends and prepare relevant reports
• Provide an insight to the clients regarding their fixed incomes as well as relevant feedback to the analysts and portfolio managers based on the market trends
• Maintain healthy relationships with the clients, handle all their issues and provide timely resolutions
• Recommend new strategies by evaluating the existing fixed income investment plans
• Offer fixed income products and services as per the client’s financial abilities and his interest in investment

• Monitor and manage the risks associated with fixed income trading, including interest rate risk, credit risk, and liquidity risk.
• Stay updated on relevant regulatory frameworks, such as securities laws, market regulations, and compliance requirements. Ensure all trading activities adhere to the firm’s policies and regulatory guidelines.
• Prepare and maintain accurate trade documentation, including trade confirmations, settlement instructions, and compliance reports.
• Coordinate with settlement teams to ensure timely and accurate settlement of trades.
• Utilize trading platforms, market data systems, and other technological tools to execute trades, analyze market trends, and monitor portfolio performance.
• Stay abreast of industry advancements and leverage technology for improved trading efficiency.
• Work closely with other traders, sales teams, research analysts, and portfolio managers within the firm to exchange information, coordinate trading activities, and support the overall investment process.
Requirements
First or higher degree or its equivalent in a relevant field including banking, finance, accounting, business management, economics and marketing.
• Minimum of Six (6) years relevant post-qualification experience
• Professional certification, e.g. CISA, CIMA, ACCA, ACA, CFA or other relevant professional certificate is an added advantage
• Significant experience in fixed income trading, preferably in a financial securities firm or investment bank, with a strong track record of successful trades and risk management.
• In-depth understanding of fixed income markets, including different types of fixed income securities, yield curve dynamics, credit analysis, and market liquidity.
• Familiarity with financial derivatives and structured products is also beneficial.
• Strong quantitative and analytical skills to analyze market data, assess risk-reward profiles, and develop effective trading strategies.
• Proficiency in using financial models, spreadsheets, and data analysis tools is essential.
• Ability to identify, assess, and manage risks associated with fixed income trading. Knowledge of risk measurement techniques, such as value-at-risk (VaR) and stress testing, is advantageous.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients, collaborate with colleagues, and articulate complex trading concepts.

• Proficient in using trading platforms, order management systems, market data platforms, and other relevant technology tools.
