Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough checks on new transmission infrastructure installations to ensure compliance with standards and specifications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve transmission network failures promptly, minimizing downtime.
- Identify and mitigate potential risks on the network, ensuring the stability and security of our infrastructure.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the telecommunications industry.
- Strong knowledge of transmission infrastructure technologies, including fiber optics, microwave, and satellite systems.
- Hands-on experience with transmission network troubleshooting and maintenance.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Good understanding of network security principles and best practices.
- Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for network management and monitoring.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a team environment.

Mission:
- Responsible for the development of new applications, maintenance, support and upgrades to existing in-house developed applications. Involve in the investigation and analysis of user problems, application bugs, monitoring, reconciliation and subsequent problem resolution and technical testing of patches and solutions.

3. Job Title: Engineer – RF Optimization Lagos. Network NG
Mission:
- To manage radio network design and optimization activities in the Lagos Region of the network comprising (Lagos and Ogun), ensuring that enough capacity and coverage is provided to support subscriber growth and usage demands. To provide high Quality of Service (QoS) to MTN subscribers from a radio access point of view.
Description:
- Network optimization functions within the region which will be measured by:
- Capacity assurance – Liaise with the Planning and implementation team to ensure that at any time the network will be able to accommodate the subscriber level anticipated 3 months ahead
- SLA KPIs improvement – Ensure that the optimization vendors execute optimization actions to continually improve the SLA KPIs
- Technology integration – Liaise with the Planning team to ensure that multiservice sites (2G, 3G, 4G, etc) are properly designed and integrated with minimal complexity and good Inter Radio Access Technology performance.
- Time – Ensuring that network optimization and SLA KPIs improvement are done in timely manner.
- Always maintain a detailed knowledge of the coverage areas of all the RAN nodes in the regions, profile their performance and report status
- Monitor, benchmark and report all competitor activities
- Manage customer complaints handling with the optimization vendor.
- Apply the use of optimization tools to conduct routine deep dive to identify network problems and resolve them.
- Be aware of any of the issues below that may affect the successful operation of MTN’s business within the region
- Provide specialist technical support to all other departments regarding the network and radio related features
- Conduct the trialing and deployment of new features on the network
- Conduct routine coverage evaluation using physical drive tests and virtual drive tests.

4. Job Title: Engineer – Radio Access Performance.Network NG
Mission:
- To measure the network indicators and provide NWG with data/information.
- To evaluate trends in network performance and recommend solutions to optimize network performance.
Description:
- Monitor and evaluate multi vendor Radio Access Network (RAN) performance to ensure KPI stability, service continuity, and optimal end user experience.
- Maintain detailed cluster and site level performance awareness to support proactive performance management and informed management feedback.
- Detect network degradations and coordinate escalation and resolution with Managed Services Vendors, Operations, Optimization, and Field teams within agreed SLAs.
- Perform advanced RAN troubleshooting and root cause analysis using KPIs, drive test results, logs, and feature/parameter correlation.
- Recommend, implement, and validate parameter and feature optimization actions, including special event and mass event optimization activities.
- Support pre and post change performance validation for network changes such as upgrades, swaps, refarming, new site integrations, and feature activations.
- Generate RAN statistical analyses, dashboards, and performance reports that highlight trends, risks, and actionable improvement areas.
- Conduct radio audits, benchmarking, and performance assessments, including Umlaut/P3 exercises and regulatory validation support.
- Review and critically analyze MSOP and weekly optimization reports, providing feedback on SLA compliance, KPI performance, and action effectiveness.

Mission:
- To design and plan MTNN radio networks (2G, UMTS, LTE,5G and future technologies) on various layers (including in-building solutions IBS/DAS, FEMTO/small cells,Macro etc.) for cost effective deployment of radio network coverage and capacity.
Description:
- Network Planning functions within the region which will be measured by:
- Capacity – Ensuring that at any time the network will be able to accommodate the subscriber level anticipated 3 months ahead
- Technology integration – Ensuring that multiservice sites (2G, 3G, 4G, etc) are properly designed and integrated with minimal complexity and good Inter Radio Access Technology performance.
- Time – Ensuring that network planning and site acceptance will be carried out in a manner to allow sufficient time for acquisition, construction and implementation of BTS and transmission links
- Maintain at all times a detailed knowledge of the behavior and status of all sites in the region of responsibility. This includes:
- Nominal plan
- Planned sites
- Site acquisition status
- Work Order issuance status
- Build configuration and status
- Traffic levels
- Voice traffic indices: GoS (Congestions stats), Dropped call rate, Control Channel failure, HO failure rate, half-rate
- Data traffic volumes and relevant indices
- Monitor and report all competitor activities
- The clutter data and propagation models (Planning Tool: Asset) will be checked at regular intervals to ensure that they offer a true reflection of the propagation environment·
