If your profile is strong but you hold an EU or EFTA passport in addition to one of the eligible nationalities, you are not eligible. Dual nationality with an EU or EFTA country is a hard disqualifier.

Who Can Be Considered for Wageningen University Excellence Scholarship 2027

You hold the nationality of at least one eligible country listed above and do not hold EU or EFTA nationality.
You submitted a complete application for an eligible on-campus MSc programme at Wageningen University & Research before 1 December 2026.
You are unconditionally admitted to that MSc programme.
You have a high GPA of 80% or higher. A First Class Honours BSc, or an equivalent result, is required.

You cannot fill in a separate Excellence Scholarship form on day one. The process is coordinated by the WU Scholarship Selection Committee and runs on invitation.

Around March–April 2027, a number of applicants will be told by email that they have reached the final stage. In that final stage, a lottery determines the recipients.

On 7 April 2027, the Excellence Scholarship is offered to the selected students. Remaining finalists go on a waiting list.

Choose an eligible on-campus MSc that matches your Bachelor’s background. Weak subject fit can block unconditional admission even with a high GPA.
