Job Title: Telecommunications Engineer

Main Responsibilities

  1. Technical Studies: Conduct technical studies to design, install, and standardize Telecom systems and related utilities according to set standards and GS TEL installation rules.
  2. Preparation of Technical Specifications: Create technical specifications and scope of work for Telecom projects (such as upgrades and maintenance in Oil & Gas sectors). Evaluate technical bids, prepare evaluation reports, and oversee project implementation.
  3. Monitoring and Compliance: Monitor system compliance and implement Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Conduct regular assessments of telecommunication systems and suggest improvements.
  4. Documentation and Reporting: Prepare technical reports, assist in developing a 5-year work program, assess equipment obsolescence, propose replacement plans, and update engineering documents and manuals.
  5. Request for Quotations: Prepare technical dossiers (Scope of work) to request quotations from contractors for telecommunication projects and specific system operations.
  6. Supervision of Contractors: Supervise third-party contractors on-site to ensure adherence to installation rules.
  7. Commissioning Activities: Actively participate in Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), commissioning activities for Telecom equipment and systems. Prepare punch lists and monitor their progress.
  8. Commercial Activities: Participate in various commercial activities, coordinate material inspections, evaluate technical offers, prepare service orders, and address technical queries from suppliers.
  9. Implementation of Technical Solutions: Implement approved technical solutions for new systems, system integration, and upgrades as assigned by superiors.

Traverse Functions

  1. Support Field Systems and Equipment: Help Field Engineers and Technicians with operation and maintenance for different systems and equipment like PA/GA, CCTV, GMDSS, Access control, Radar with AIS, UHF/VHF Radios, Satellite TV, WiMAX, 4G/LTE, Radar Beacon (RACON), Non-Directional Beacon (NBD), Video conference, and Infrastructure monitoring systems.
  2. Assist Telecom Specialists: Help offshore Telecom specialists with maintenance tasks on Telecom systems.
  3. Find Solutions for Problems: Suggest suitable solutions for operational problems with Telecommunication Equipment/Systems in the field.
  4. Participate in Projects: Join affiliate Telecoms and other projects and complete assigned tasks.

Accountabilities

  1. Provide Technical Documentation on Time: Make sure technical documents are delivered promptly.
  2. Deliver Projects on Time and within Budget: Finish project tasks on time and without exceeding the budget.
  3. Maintain Performance Standards: Keep up performance according to the service level agreement for telecommunication systems, network, and services.

Background and Setting

Improving telecom services for better spare part management. Identifying issues with certain installations not meeting standard specifications or audits. Implementing a preventive maintenance plan for all telecom sites. Upgrading or replacing existing systems to accommodate new projects.

Job Title: Inspection Engineer

Activities

  1. Yearly Campaign Preparation:
    • Prepares yearly campaigns with support from Heads of Topside, Method, and Subsea.

    • Prepares Job Risk Assessments (JRA) and associated Permits to Work (PTW).
  2. Support During Campaigns:
    • Provides support to the site during campaign activities.
  3. Planned Works Technical Support:
    • Provides technical support to EGINA Offshore Inspection staff for planned works.
    • Follows up on technical queries or logistic matters raised by the staff.
  4. Emergency Coordination:
    • Coordinates emergencies related to loss of containment to find appropriate mitigations and/or repair methodology.
  5. Administrative Tasks:
    • Organizes yearly renewal of generic Job Risk Assessments (JRA).
    • Updates the “Top Notifications” list.
    • Reports the need for Safety Management Review (SMR) to the Head of Method to improve safety and operations.
    • Coordinates with the Engineering, Construction, and Procurement (ECP) team for opportunity repairs linked with scheduled and/or unexpected Shutdowns (SD).
    • Ensures adequate closure of campaign activities, including reporting in MyRoute/workbook and closing work orders.
  6. Inspection Reports and Collaboration:
    • Reviews inspection reports from the site and initiates follow-up actions (issue notifications) as necessary.
    • Collaborates with other Inspection Engineers to update Asset registers and planning files after each campaign.
  7. Backlog Clearance:
    • Contributes to EGINA Work Order (WO) backlog clearance, with specific emphasis on maintaining zero Safety, Environment, and Community Engagement (SECE) WO backlog.
  8. Other Inspection Activities:
    • Undertakes other inspection activities as requested by the Inspection Manager.

Candidate Profile

  • Education: You need to be an engineer or have a university degree. Your background should be in metallurgy, welding, mechanical engineering, or materials science. It’s important to have specific training in inspection, quality control, and corrosion control.
  • Experience: You should have at least 6 years of experience.
  • Knowledge: You should know about RBI Methodology (Risk-Based Inspection) and have experience with UNISUP. Also, you should have worked in the petrochemical or oil and gas industry.

Additional Information

  1. Smooth Communication: Make sure there’s clear communication between the site, smart room, and support functions.
  2. Inspection Activities: Organize, coordinate, supervise (if needed), and record inspection activities.
  3. Production Level: During the plateau period, production level should be 180kbopd and 3.5Mmscm/d.
  4. Managing Contractors’ Staff: You may need to manage up to 5 contractors’ staff during campaign operations.
  5. Collaboration: Work closely with the Smart Room Manager. Be involved in planning inspection activities outside the EGINA core crew area. Plan and define campaigns for the following year with Heads of Topside, Method, and Subsea.
  6. Equipment: Deal with 1 FPSO, 1 Offloading Buoy, storage capacity of 2 MMbbl, and 27 subsea wells.
