Eligibility for Undergraduate Applicants
To qualify for the undergraduate Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at Makerere University, applicants must:
1. Apply for Admission: Submit an application for the 2025/2026 academic year under the Private Sponsorship Scheme.
2. Educational Qualifications:
- Have completed advanced secondary level education (or an equivalent qualification) in an African country.
- OR hold a second-class/credit diploma from a recognized institution.
- OR have passed the Mature Age Entry Examinations at Makerere University in 2023 or 2024.
3. Financial Need: Must demonstrate significant financial hardship.
4. Scholarship Exclusivity: Cannot hold any other scholarship, including the Government of Uganda Scholarship.
5. Academic Status: Must not have completed an undergraduate degree before.
6. Leadership & Community Service: Should have a proven track record of leadership and community involvement.
7. Age Limit:
- General applicants: 28 years old or younger at the application deadline.
- Refugees, Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs), and students with disabilities: 32 years old or younger.
8. Special Requirements for Refugee Applicants:
