Scholarship Benefits of Study in Canada Scholarships 2026–2027
The Study in Canada Scholarships provide financial support for short-term academic mobility. The scholarship value depends on the level and duration of study.
Here’s what recipients receive:
- $10,200 for 4 months or one academic term at the undergraduate or college level
- $10,200 for 4 months or one academic term at the graduate level (Master’s or PhD)
- $14,000 for 5 to 6 months at the graduate level (Master’s or PhD)
Tuition fees are fully waived by the Canadian institution, which significantly reduces the cost of studying in Canada. The scholarship amount is intended to support living expenses during the study or research period.

Eligibility Requirements for Study in Canada Scholarships 2026–2027
To qualify for the Study in Canada Scholarships, students must meet all of the following conditions:
- Be a citizen of an eligible country or territory in Asia, Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, or Sub-Saharan Africa
- Be enrolled full-time at a post-secondary institution in their home country
- Be paying tuition fees to their home institution for the full duration of the mobility period
- Be able to complete the study or research period by September 30, 2027
Students are not eligible if they:
- Hold or have applied for Canadian citizenship or permanent residency
- Already receive funding from Global Affairs Canada or another Canadian federal agency
- Are already enrolled in a degree, diploma, or certificate program at a Canadian institution
Documents Required
Under the updated application model, documentation requirements have been simplified.
The key document required is:
- Privacy Notice Statement (PNS) signed by the selected student and dated within the last six months
All other institutional requirements are managed internally by the Canadian institution through its selection framework.

Steps on How to Apply for Study in Canada Scholarships 2026–2027
The application process is handled by Canadian institutions, not by students directly. Here’s how it works:
- The Canadian institution assigns a program coordinator
- The institution registers and logs into the My EduCanada portal
- Individual scholarship nominations are submitted through the portal
- The signed Privacy Notice Statement is uploaded for each student
- A completed Management and Accountability Framework is emailed separately by the deadline
- The application is reviewed, validated, and officially submitted
Selected institutions are notified, and they then communicate directly with successful students.
