Who Can Apply for UTS IRTP Scholarship 2026

  • Be an overseas student as defined in the Higher Education Support Act 2003, and be undertaking an accredited HDR course at UTS in the year of the stipend
  • Have your enrolment into the research program accepted by the university. IRTP stipends are not available to people who have not been accepted
  • Not receive an equivalent award, stipend, or salary for the HDR that is worth more than 75 percent of the IRTP stipend rate. Income unrelated to the course is excluded from that 75 percent test
  • Not hold another Commonwealth award designed to offset HDR fees

Incomplete or late applications are not considered. The award is aimed at newly commencing students with outstanding academic achievement and research potential.
