About the Role
The Office of the Auditor General of ECOWAS Institutions is seeking an Information Technology Officer to support the efficient operation of its information and communication systems. The successful candidate will contribute to the digitalization of OAG operations, support ICT projects, and help ensure compliance with ECOWAS ICT policies and international cybersecurity standards.

- Contribute to the development of the OAG ICT strategy and digital transformation initiatives.
- Support the development and implementation of ICT policies, standards, procedures, work plans, and budgets.
- Provide technical advice on ICT investments and emerging technologies.
- Manage LAN, WAN, wireless networks, VPNs, and internet connectivity.
- Monitor system performance and ensure system availability and reliability.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and recommend mitigation measures.
- Manage identity and access controls.
- Coordinate backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity arrangements.
- Promote cybersecurity awareness among staff.
- Manage enterprise applications, collaboration platforms, and applicable cloud services.
- Coordinate software installation, licensing, upgrades, and patch management.
- Maintain ICT asset inventories.
- Provide second-level technical support and supervise ICT helpdesk activities.
- Resolve complex technical incidents within agreed service levels.
- Support audit teams with ICT-enabled audit tools and data analytics solutions.
- Prepare ICT technical specifications and participate in procurement evaluation.
- Maintain ICT risk registers and support internal and external ICT audits.
- Prepare ICT performance reports, indicators, and dashboards.

Requirements
Applicants should have:
- A Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- At least 5 years of progressively responsible ICT experience, particularly in ICT infrastructure, systems administration, cybersecurity, or enterprise ICT management.
- A Master’s degree in IT, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, Business Information Systems, or a related field and/or professional IT certification is an added advantage.
- Experience in general ICT service operations is also an added advantage.
- Applicants must generally be below 45 years of age; this provision does not apply to internal candidates.
Skills and Competencies
Candidates should demonstrate ICT proficiency, problem-solving ability, project management skills, communication and interpersonal skills, analytical ability, cybersecurity awareness, ability to work with diverse teams, and knowledge of ECOWAS institutions, policies, structures, and operational requirements. Fluency in English, French, or Portuguese is required, while knowledge of an additional ECOWAS official language is an added advantage.
Assessment
Qualified candidates may undergo a written exercise and competency-based interview.
