    The Nigerian Army wishes to inform the general public that the successful candidates for Direct Short Service Commission 28/2024 Selection Board are to report for officer cadet training at the Nigerian Defence Academy (NDA), AFAKA, Kaduna on Friday, 10 May 2024.

    Important Information

    A.) Candidates are to report to NDA Kaduna with the following:

    • Original credentials including online printout showing his/her passport photograph(s).
    • Four copies of 5 x 7 coloured photographs in suit and in full standing position without cap/hat.
    • Two pairs each of unmarked white round neck vests and navy blue shorts (without stripes).
    • Two pairs of pure white canvas/trainers (rubber type NOT acceptable).
    • Two pairs each of unmarked maroon round neck vests and navy blue track suits (without stripes).
    • Two white shirts, one blue shirt, a black tie and a black belt.
    • Four pairs of white socks and 2 pairs of black socks.
    • Two pairs of national dress or suit and casual wears.

    Job Description

    • Incumbent is the Mission’s Political/Military Affairs Assistant.  The position is one of nine in the Political section and is supervised by the Political-Military Affairs Officer.  Incumbent is responsible for coordinating Leahy Vetting at Post.  Incumbent is likewise responsible for backup reporting on the region’s multinational organization, ECOWAS, has some action and reporting on Nigeria’s Political-Military developments, and for maintaining Post’s biography database.  This position works in close coordination with the Consular Section, the Defense Attache Office and the Office of Security Cooperation at Post, as well as various offices responsible for Leahy vetting in Washington, DC.
    • Coordinate and conduct Leahy Vetting processing at Post. Use Leahy Invest to manage the workflow between sections and with the Bureau of Democracy, human Rights and Labor in Washington. 
    • Monitor, analyze and report on ECOWAS, the Niger Delta and the Nigerian armed forces. Also, maintain up-to-date database of host government and other official biographies.
    • Assist in the formulation, implementation and monitoring of US military assistance programs for Nigeria, and peacekeeping/conflict resolution programs for ECOWAS.               
    • Explain, promote and defend the laws, policies and interests of the US in public diplomacy, bilateral meetings and demarches.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    Education Requirements:

    Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, International Relations or other Liberal Arts is required.

    Experience:

    Three (3) years of professional work experience in an office environment with a strong focus on writing and analytical skills is required.

    Job Knowledge

    • Employee must be familiar with the work of US Embassies abroad, as well as the work of the Political Section of US Embassies.
    • Must be able to acquire a solid grasp of US and Nigerian military structures and bilateral cooperative programs through on-the-job training and self-guided study.
    • Must also learn how Leahy Vetting impacts security assistance and cooperation between the U.S. and Nigeria.

    • Construction Company seeks to recruit a Land Surveyor to assist in managing and coordinating surveys and investigations of land surfaces and ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.

    Position Overview / Responsibilities

    • Assist in managing and coordinates surveys and investigations of land surfaces.
    • Ensure accurate measurements of the ground as required, including aspects such as small and large-scale distances, angles and elevations.
    • Gather data on the earth’s physical and man-made features through surveys
    • Assist in supervising and use digital mapping and processing data.
    • Make use of geographical information systems (GIS) to analyze and interpret site features.
    • Use computer-aided design (CAD) and other IT software to interpret data and present information.
    • Handle the preparation of survey maps, plans, and exhibits.
    • Provide surveying expertise to special surveying problems.
    • Meet with Civil and design engineers to determine pertinent information required for project plans
    • Verify the accuracy of survey data including measurements and calculations conducted at survey sites.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • A First Degree from a recognized University in Land Surveying.
    • 3 years’ post NYSC experience in conducting land surveys/in the field.
    • Ability to perform horizontal and vertical survey calculations.
    • Ability to work with design engineers, clients, contractors.
    • Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the particular field
    • Ability to rely on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
    • Can Lead and direct the team for better productivity.
    • A self-starter and a personal commitment to continuous self-development.

    Job Role / Objectives

    • Construction Company seeks to recruit a young and dynamic Electrical Engineerwho would work in a project team and would be responsible for providing assistance in overseeing project management, designing, developing and maintaining electrical control systems, machinery and equipment

    Position Overview / Responsibilities

    • Work with the Electrical team in construction installation, maintenance, support, documentation, and testing activities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, and customer requirements.
    • Assist in the Installation of electrical equipment including transformers, switchgear, disconnects, and motor control centres monitor and expedite deliveries.
    • Assist in power distribution system design including electrical equipment layout, single line diagrams, and wiring schedules.
    • Assist in the Inspection of completed installations and observe operations, to ensure conformance to design and equipment specifications and compliance with operational and safety standards.
    • Read design specifications and technical drawings.
    • Record, analyse and interpret test data.
    • Propose modifications and retest products.

    Qualifications and Requirements

    • A First Degree from a recognised university in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Electronics Engineering.
    • 1 – 3 years’ experience post-NYSC required with their discharge certificate at time of application.
    • Ability to work with design engineers, clients, contractors.
    • Strong problem-solving skills.
    • Strong mathematical abilities.
    • Ability to work with CAD Packages
    • Excellent time management skills in order to handle competing deadlines.
    • A high level of autonomy and self-efficiency with attention to detail.
    • The ability to be a team-player.
    • The will to learn and continuously develop skills and knowledge.

    Position Summary

    • The Graduate Drilling Well Engineer is responsible for providing well engineering and operations support in well delivery projects for one or more rigs including preparing Well Proposals, Basis of Designs, Well Programs (Drilling, Completion, Workover), AFE’s and End of Well Reports. Be part of the field operations drilling team when required and support critical operations at the wellsite.

    Responsibilities

    • Perform offset well analysis
    • Prepare the Basis of Design and follows the execution of programs technically
    • Perform casing and tubing design including using company engineering software
    • Prepare Well Drilling Programs and Operations Readiness reports.
    • Prepare well operations procedures e.g. Casing running and cementing
    • Prepare well time estimates and AFE’s.
    • Participate in the selection and evaluation of service companies, suppliers and equipment.
    • Ensure proper communication with relevant parties (client, segments, third parties, etc)
    • Participate in cost control of programs, vs AFE by analyzing solutions. Optimizes the well design and perform cost benefit analysis.
    • Participate in Safety activities and HEMP programs
    • Prepare End of well reports, and ensures lessons learned and captured and are incorporated into the next basis of design and/or drilling program

    Qualifications / Requirements

    • Bachelor’s or Technical Degree in Engineering or the Physical Sciences.
    • Candidate should not be more than Twenty Seven (27) years of age as at the time of application.
    • Work experience not mandatory, Maximum of 3 years work experience,
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to learn and pick up new skills.
    • Good understanding of health, safety, and environmentally compliant work environments.
    • Ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams and communicate effectively.
    • Strong project management skills, including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
    • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and documentation skills.
