Job Title: Senior Financial Analyst
Job Description
The Senior Financial Analyst will be responsible for providing accurate and timely financial information to enhance financial decision-making.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Evaluate current and historical data to enhance decision-making.
- Prepare monthly and annual Financial Statements
- Prepare and submit all regulatory reports to NERC at defined deadlines.
- Supervise month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Coordinate and support internal and external audits
- Maintain an effective internal control environment over ledger processes
- Collaborate with other sections and departments, including business operations, Treasury, Budget, and Projects, to ensure accurate cost allocations and expense tracking
- Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial data
- Preparation of financial forecasts and monitoring business performance.
- Provide support in the areas of performance monitoring, analytics and reporting with the company to drive operational efficiency.
- Assist in ensuring effective strategies and measures are in place and detect potential revenue leakages/irregularities.
- Develop and implement a creative performance template/tracker for the business.
- Collate and interpret data, analysing results from varied sources, using statistical techniques and providing ongoing reports, drawing inferences and presenting observations that will drive business decisions.
- Develop business intelligence tools that will help drive business operations.
- Ensure accurate recording of all financial transactions in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Review business financial statements and analyse commodity prices, sales, costs, expenses, and tax rates to determine the company’s value by projecting the company’s future earnings.
- Meet with the company officials to gain better insight into the company’s prospects and management.
- Perform expense trend analysis and monitor financial and operational risk exposure on an ongoing basis; proactively communicate potential risk to management.
- Provide general support to business managers as required.
- Complete other ad-hoc analysis and reporting, including utilising data from multiple sources.
- Perform any other duties as may be communicated by line managers, management team or any other recognised stakeholders.
- Establish and maintain relationships with any key internal and external stakeholders.
- Implement data protection policies and practices of Egbin Power plc.
- Ensure compliance with the NDPR and other data protection laws and data protection policies.
- Undertake a Data Protection Impact Assessment as applicable to curb the risk during data processing operations.
- Ensure awareness, understanding of QHSE policy and application of departmental objectives.
- Ensure awareness of the Integrated Management System (ISO 9001:2015,14001:2015 & 14001:2018) and implications of not conforming with the requirements.
- Understand and identify hazards, risks and environmental aspects and their impact as it is relate to their jobs.

Education and Work Experience
- Bachelor’s degree or its equivalent in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other related disciplines.
- Relevant Professional certification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CFA) is a must-have.
- Minimum of Five (5) years relevant experience.
Skills and Competencies
- Good understanding of trends, challenges, opportunities, regulations and legislations relating to the power industry.
- Good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
- Working knowledge of accounting packages and systems, including a standard ERP software (e.g. Chart of Accounts, Control Account, Accounting Modules, etc).
- Ability to extract, manipulate and analyse large volumes of data and strong problem-solving skills.
- High sense of accountability and dependability.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- High ethical standards and integrity.
- Proficiency in the use of MS Office tools.
