To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a citizen of a country outside the EU/EEA, Switzerland, or Suriname.
  • Meet the visa and residence permit requirements for the Netherlands.
  • Not hold dual nationality with an EU/EEA country or Switzerland.
  • Apply for a full-time participating Master’s program at Maastricht University.
  • Meet the admission requirements of the chosen program.
  • Not have previously studied for a degree in the Netherlands (exchange programs are allowed).
  • Be 35 years old or younger on 1 September 2025.
  • Have a strong academic record (GPA of 7.5/10 or equivalent).

How to Apply for Maastricht University NL High Potential Scholarship 2026

  1. Choose an eligible Master’s program at Maastricht University.
  2. Submit your admission application via Studielink (or the UM portal). Complete all admission requirements by the scholarship deadline.
  3. Once you receive a student ID, complete the scholarship application form before the deadline.
