About Egbin Power Plc
Egbin Power Plc, located in Lagos, is one of Nigeria’s largest electricity-generating plants and is often regarded as the largest single power station in Sub-Saharan Africa. Originally built to address the growing electricity demands in Lagos and surrounding areas, the plant has an installed capacity of 1,320 MW. Following Nigeria’s privatization initiative, Sahara Power Group, a subsidiary of Sahara, acquired the plant. Sahara Power aims to increase its generation capacity to at least 5,000 MW within the next five years.
