  • Academic Development Funding: This can range from £500 to £2,000, depending on the length of your course, to attend conferences or courses related to your academic field.
  • Family Allowance: If you have children, you can receive up to £10,120 for the first child and up to £4,320 for a second child (2020-21 rates).
  • Fieldwork Funding: PhD students can apply to continue receiving their maintenance allowance while undertaking fieldwork as part of their research.
  • Maternity/Paternity Funding: If needed, you can apply for up to six months of paid leave during your studies.
