About the Scholarships at Queen Mary University of London
The DeepMind Scholarships at Queen Mary University of London aims to foster and inspire postgraduate education in the fields of Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and Computer Science by supporting underrepresented groups. Specifically, the scholarships are geared towards female and/or black students who are currently underrepresented in these areas of study.

Scholarship Benefits
The DeepMind Scholarship will provide comprehensive financial support to successful applicants, covering:
- The cost of tuition fees.
- Living allowance of £15,480.
- An annual travel scholarship of £2,200.
- A one-time equipment grant of £1,700.

- MSc in Machine Learning for Visual Data Analytics (FT)
- MSc in Artificial Intelligence (FT)
- MSc Computer Games (FT)
- MSc in Computer Science (FT)
Scholarship Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for a DeepMind Scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Be a UK or international student.
- Identify as a member of a group that is underrepresented in the fields of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Science, specifically female and/or of Black ethnicity.
- Hold a confirmed offer to enroll in one of the following full-time programs at Queen Mary University of London, starting in September 2023: MSc in Artificial Intelligence, MSc in Computer Science, MSc in Computer Games, MSc in Machine Learning for Visual Data Analytics, or MSc in Robotics.
Required Documents
- A copy of an offer letter to study one of the eligible courses listed above
- A completed application form and less than 500-word statement explaining why you deserve the award and your motivation for studying in the choosen field of study at Queen Mary University of London.
Application Process
1. Before applying for the DeepMind Scholarship, it is important to confirm eligibility as the panel will only consider eligible applications, and awards may be revoked if eligibility criteria are not met or false information is provided.
2. Applicants should download and complete the DeepMind Scholarship Application Form 2023 [DOC 32KB] and submit it, along with their university offer letter and CV, to ioc@qmul.ac.uk. All documents should be labeled with the applicant’s first and last name.
The selection panel will review applications and select five students to receive the award. Applicants will be informed of the decision by July 31, 2023.
