- Candidates must meet the minimum criteria for admission to a PhD or Master’s program at Stellenbosch University.
- The scholarships are open to South African citizens and African foreign nationals.

When applying for the AGCAE Scholarships, it’s essential to compile the necessary supporting documents:
- Academic records: Include full particulars of ALL previous and current tertiary studies. Ensure that you submit copies of certified diploma/degree certificates AND official study records (transcripts). Note that academic records from student portals will not be accepted.
- ID or passport: Attach a certified copy of your ID (South African) or passport (international) photo page.
- Proof of competency in English: If your qualifications weren’t obtained from tertiary institutions where English is the language of instruction, you must provide proof of English Language proficiency. - Compile the supporting documents outlined earlier, including academic records, ID or passport copy, and proof of English competency.

Additionally, inform your three references that their referee letters, stating your capability to complete doctoral or master’s studies, should be sent directly to the Graduate School via the same email address on or before the application deadline.
