About NTU Undergraduate Scholarships

The top undergraduate scholarship offered by Nanyang Technological University (NTU), known as the Nanyang Scholarship, is granted to exceptional freshmen enrolled in undergraduate programs. This prestigious scholarship acknowledges students who demonstrate outstanding academic performance, exceptional leadership potential, and remarkable co-curricular achievements. Scholarship Benefits

The Nanyang Scholarship provides coverage for the duration of the normal program, given that the recipient maintains a good academic record and exemplary conduct. The scholarship includes:

  • Full coverage of subsidized tuition fees.
  • A living allowance of S$6,500 for each academic year.
  • An accommodation allowance of up to S$2,000 for each academic year.
  • A travel grant of up to S$5,000 for an overseas program, subject to the terms and conditions outlined in the Travel Grant Form.
  • A one-time computer allowance of S$1,750.
  • The Scholarship requires no bond, except for the three year bond which is applicable to all Singapore PRs and international students under the MOE Tuition Grant Scheme.

Scholarship Eligibility Criteria

This scholarship is available to:

  • Individuals of all nationalities who plan to pursue a full-time undergraduate degree at NTU. 
  • Candidates must demonstrate exceptional academic achievements through their possession of a Singapore-Cambridge GCE ‘A’ level, Diploma awarded by a Singaporean polytechnic, a NUS High School Diploma, an IB Diploma, or qualifications equivalent to Year 12.
  • Moreover, applicants should have an impressive co-curricular record and demonstrate strong leadership abilities and potential.

Note: The scholarship provided for the Biomedical Sciences and Chinese Medicine Program at NTU will only apply to the first three years of study.

Scholarship Terms and Conditions

  • The scholarship recipient is not allowed to hold any other scholarships, bursaries, university loans, or awards concurrently without prior approval from the University. 
  • The recipient is also required to maintain a minimum Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of 3.5 out of 5.0, and their academic performance will be evaluated every semester.
  • Additionally, the recipient must take on the role of a student ambassador or a similar position, representing the university for activities such as publicity talks or receiving guests when requested.
  • The University reserves the right to withdraw the scholarship if the recipient’s progress or behavior is deemed unsatisfactory.
  • In the event that the recipient decides to terminate the scholarship before completion, a repayment will be imposed.

Required Documents

To complete their application, candidates must be prepared to submit the following documents:

  • A digital passport-sized photo
  • An online application form
  • A reference letter from a referee
  • A personal essay with a maximum of 300 words
  • A Singapore-Cambridge GCE “A” Level certificate or Year 12 equivalent results.
