Job Title: Maintenance Assistant

Job Overview

  • A Maintenance Assistant is required to support engineering and maintenance operations in Maiduguri. The role involves supervising maintenance activities, ensuring compliance with safety and environmental standards, and supporting efficient operation of company assets.
  • All activities must align with TotalEnergies safety standards, environmental policies, and engineering regulations. Strong teamwork, accountability, and transparency are essential for success in this position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular on-site inspections to ensure maintenance and engineering works meet approved job scope, schedules, safety, quality, and environmental standards.
  • Ensure full compliance with TotalEnergies Golden Rules and proper use of STOP Cards.
  • Monitor contractor performance to ensure work quality is not compromised.
  • Confirm that contractors follow approved bills of quantities accurately.
  • Issue general work permits on site and ensure strict compliance with permit instructions.
  • Issue specialized permits (hot work, tank entry, cleaning and degassing, fire permits, weekend work, etc.) under authorization of the Maintenance Supervisor or Maintenance Engineer.
  • Identify maintenance failures and recommend repair actions through appropriate supervisors.
  • Record and report maintenance fault requests for timely action.
  • Request and obtain quotations from approved contractors when required.
  • Perform minor emergency repairs when necessary.
  • Support installation and distribution of special network equipment such as fire extinguishers, shelves, and poster frames.
  • Carry out pump price changes as directed by the Maintenance Engineer.
  • Maintain accurate hard-copy inventory records of company assets including pumps, generators, compressors, and fire equipment.
  • Monitor pump flow rates to ensure required tolerance levels are maintained.
