    • Only the top 10 candidates will be shortlisted from each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory for academic verification prior to scholarship offer. 
    • Candidates with falsified results will be disqualified.
    • Only candidates that have successfully satisfied the above criteria will be contacted to receive the scholarship award.
    • All scholars must maintain a minimum of 3.5 CGPA per session, in a 5-grade system or the equivalent in other grade systems, to sustain the award.

    To apply for the Presidential Scholarship at Clark University:

    • Indicate your interest in the Presidential Scholarship when completing the Common Application or Coalition Application with Scoir, available from August 1.
    • Once you express interest, you’ll receive detailed information, including the topics for two short essays required for the scholarship application.
    • The final deadline for submitting these essays is February 1, which applies to Early Action, Early Decision, and Regular Decision candidates.
    • In March, students will be notified if they have been selected for an interview.
    • The Admissions Committee selects finalists based on their applications for admission and other specified criteria.

    Scholarship Requirements

    To be considered for this life-changing opportunity, candidates must:

    • Have experienced the loss of one or both parents.
    • Hold a valid national secondary school examination result from the past two years (including all of 2022 and 2023), or will receive their final exam results before February 9th, 2024.
    • Be born after September 1st, 2001.

    • Possess proficiency in English, French, or Portuguese.
    • Rank among the top 10% of their class during the last 2 or 3 years of secondary school.
    • Commit to participating in the two transformative Ashinaga preparatory programs before university commencement.
    • Demonstrate unwavering dedication to returning home or contributing to Sub-Saharan African society post-graduation.
    • Not have dependents that might hinder academic progress.
    • Enjoy good health to ensure successful overseas study.
