ABOUT THE JOB
The Route to Market (RTM) Route Planner is responsible for designing and maintaining efficient, data‑driven sales routes that maximize field productivity and ensure optimal market coverage. By using customer data, outlet segmentation, mapping tools, and commercial systems such as SAP, SFA, CRM (e.g., Dynamics 365), and DMS, the role transforms market insights into practical route plans that reduce travel time and increase customer interaction. As the primary owner of route structures and standards, the RTM Route Planner safeguards the accuracy of customer and route data while supporting improved sales execution, better resource utilization, and overall commercial effectiveness
YOUR KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Route Planning & Optimization
- Design routes that enable sales teams to visit the right outlets efficiently.
- Create and maintain sales routes using routing tools such as Territory Routing Planner (TRP) or similar GIS-based planning tools.
- Minimize unnecessary travel time between outlets.
- Ensure routes are balanced so that workloads are evenly distributed across territories.
- Maintain clear territorial boundaries across regions and customers.
Time & Motion Study:
- Analyze how sales representatives spend their time during daily operations.
- Conduct time and motion studies to understand in-outlet activities, admin time, travel time, visit duration, and overall field productivity.
- Recommend improvements to increase effective customer-facing time.
Outlet Segmentation & Coverage Planning:
- Support effective market coverage through structured outlet classification.
- Apply outlet segmentation to prioritize high-value and high-potential outlets archetypes.
- Support development and implementation of Call Concept & Frequency (CCAF)
- Align route plans with outlet density, market potential, and coverage requirements
Customer Master Data Maintenance & Governance
- Ensure that customer and route information in company systems is accurate and up to date.
- Maintain accurate customer, route, and sales personnel data across HR, DMS, and SAP/SFA systems
- Conduct routine data checks and system housekeeping to ensure data integrity.
RTM Rollout & Market Expansion
- Support route planning for new market initiatives and RTM Strategy implementations.
- Develop route plans for new RTM Expansion Go-Live implementations.
- Coordinate Every Dealer Survey (EDS) activity to validate outlet coverage.
- Identify new coverage opportunities through white spot mapping.

IS THIS YOU?
- BA / B. SC or HND in relevant discipline
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in field Sales Operations, Route planning or FMCG field sales support.
- Strong analytical capability and experience working with routing or mapping tools.
- Good understanding of territory management, outlet coverage, and sales execution.
- Willing and Comfortable operating between office and field engagement with the sales team.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with Sales, HR, Master Data and other cross-functional teams

Candidates should be comfortable working with the following tools and platforms:
- Route Planning & Mapping Tools such as GIS / Digital Mapping Tools (ORTEC, Scribble, etc)
- Enterprise Systems like SAP, Sales Force Automation (SFA), Distributor Management Systems (DMS) and CRM platforms
