This initiative aims to support outstanding students from these communities by covering expenses for their undergraduate studies at Nigerian public universities.

Overview
The UGSS Special Edition is focused on empowering academically talented students from NLNG’s host communities, including those with disabilities, who are enrolled in Nigerian public universities. The scholarship encourages academic excellence in fields like Engineering, Computer Science, Environmental Science, and Geoscience.
Eligibility Criteria
To qualify for the UGSS Special Edition, applicants must:
- Be a Nigerian citizen and an indigene of an NLNG host community.
- Be enrolled in a Nigerian federal or state university for an undergraduate program.
- Hold at least five O-Level credits including Mathematics and English, from WASC, SSCE, or NECO in one sitting.
- Score a minimum of 200 in UTME and be a full-time student in a relevant field.
- Maintain a minimum CGPA of 3.5 on a 5.0 scale (or 3.0 on a 4.0 scale) throughout the scholarship period.
- Be between 18 and 25 years old at the time of application.
- Not currently be a beneficiary of any other scholarship, bursary, or grant.
- Not be a close relative of an NLNG staff member.
- Provide a valid identification letter from their host community and Local Government Council.
Required Documents
Applicants need to prepare and upload the following documents:
- Recent passport photograph (white background, max 200kb).
- O-Level and UTME results.
- University and JAMB admission letters.
- University ID card.
- Birth certificate from the National Population Commission.
- Local Government Area identification letter.
- National ID Number (NIN) slip.
- Signed and stamped academic transcripts from 100 level to the latest year.
- Community identification letter signed by the Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman or paramount ruler.
