3. Job Title: Safety Facilitator
Key Purpose
The Key Purpose of this role is to provide support to operational and line management to ensure the functioning of a comprehensive and professional Occupational Health and Safety System. Ensuring compliance to Safety systems, standards and work practices to achieve targets set for the VPO Safety Pillar and Safety KPI’s.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Ensuring compliance to the applicable Occupational Health & Safety Act
- To monitor and advise on Safety VPO Pillar performance in the plant
- Ensure workplace hazards are identified and communicated to all staff
- Support and facilitate safety improvement interventions across the plant
- Promote awareness of occupational safety and the VPO Safety programme
- Conduct audits and reviews related to the VPO Safety Pillar and legal compliance
- Conduct investigations into incidents together with line managers identifying root cause and proposing both corrective and preventative actions
- Maintain documentation such as SOP’s, policies and procedures as related to safety
- Identify safety and legal training needs and conduct training where required
- Ensure induction of both employees and contractors take place in accordance with standards
- Ensure the safe execution of Capex projects and support safe work practices where required
- Drive closure of investigations, safety gaps and legal compliance in the plant
- To assist in the investigation selected insurance claims in the plant
- Ensure the site is adequately secured and the contracted security provider complies with standards
- Support the Environmental compliance programme where required
Key Attributes and Competencies:
- Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work across the levels in the plant
- Knowledge of industrial safety rules and regulations
- Technical skills to identify safety and operational non-compliance
- Ability to conduct investigations into safety incidents, identifying root causes and developing preventative and corrective actions [Incident Investigator]
- Understanding of ABInBev Safety, Health & Environmental Management Systems (VPO) [SAMTRAC or NEBOSH]
- Ability to coaching and training teams
Minimum Requirements:
- Tertiary degree is essential
- National Diploma in a related field –Safety Management/Engineering
- 2-5 years experience in a Brewery with exposure to VPO, Safety and Engineering fields
- Experience in working in an industrial or FMCG environment essential
- Good presentation, report drafting, and problem-solving skills
- Ideal candidate would have experience in working with the NOSA integrated system

4. Job Title: Packaging Electrician
Key Purpose
The Key Purpose of this role is to provide specialized electrical artisan skill and knowledge to the shift team, and to support the operation and maintenance of the Packaging Hall and to perform and assist in problem solving.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:

- Comply with safe, health and environmental procedures and legislation.

- Trade Tested N3 Electrical.

- 1-2 years as an Electrical Artisan in similar industry.

5. Job Title: Machine Specialist
Key Purpose
The key purpose of this role is to maintain, repair and optimise plant and associated devices to ensure plant availability and product quality at minimum cost without sacrificing standards.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Operational Support
- Provide specialist support to the shift-based teams during operations, this will include standby and day shift support. Where requested, assist as a functional expert in problem solving
- Where requested, provide guidance and advice to the shift-based teams on machine operation, machine fault finding and correct responses to machine failure modes
- Where requested, provide coaching, mentoring and knowledge transfer of machine operation to shift based teams
- Assess Operators and Artisans ability to carry out tasks. Take part, as functional expert, in regional and central office plant optimisation trials. Adhere to work practices that support shift-based teams
Maintenance
- Take part in maintenance planning meeting, contributing suggestions and clarifying work required
- Carry out work during the planned, routine and opportunity maintenance window in accordance with the planned maintenance schedule issued by the Planner
- Where scheduled work cannot be completed, feed back to the Maintenance Planner for direction, this may involve rescheduling the work or prioritising outstanding work
- Assist fellow team members in the execution of their tasks in during planned maintenance windows
- Complete any administration and SAP tasks in support of planned maintenance
- Partake in maintenance postmortems to feedback problems, opportunities and learnings from maintenance activities
- Carry out Autonomous Operations as per requirements
- Partake in cleaning, lubrication and inspection in accordance with the maintenance schedule issued by the Maintenance
- Planner must be resolved using the appropriate problem-solving techniques
- Carry out routine maintenance activities in accordance with the maintenance schedule where problems have been uncovered during routine maintenance (where required, additional resources may be called in to assist)
- Verify that where running repairs have been carried out, this has addressed the problem
- Complete the administration tasks relating to any running repairs has carried out (this includes all SAP inputs) where running repairs cannot be carried out, communicate this to the Maintenance Planner to ensure the work is planned into the next planned window
Problem Solving
- Assist fellow team members to resolve problems on request
- Take part, as functional expert, in AB reports on request
- Where necessary, call in additional resources to assist in problem solving or escalate to the Engineering Controller for direction
- Analyse machine performance, conduct loss and waste analysis and develop action plans to improve performance
Housekeeping and Safety
- Operate in a safe manner at all times, and identify and highlight unsafe work practices so that these may be corrected
- Carry out work according to the work instructions and adhere to appropriate policies and procedures
- Carry out housekeeping tasks, and apply 5S principles during the execution of duties

6. Job Title: Brewing Engineer
- Job Type: Full Time

Key Purpose
The key purpose of this role is Identifying and delivering initiatives to deliver step change performance improvement and process stability in order to realise true process capability.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Asset Care
- Partake in the development of the asset care plan for the brewing, contributing suggestions and providing expert advice
- Implement the asset care plan for the brewing, ensuring the engineering team have the required competencies
- Ensure that asset care goals are incorporated into engineering team and individual goals
- Audit compliance to the asset care program by both the engineering team and shift based teams
- Ensure that asset care competencies are developed in the engineering team
- Where training needs have been identified, through the training specialist, ensure these are addressed
- Exercise budgetary controls over the asset care requirements of brewing
Plant Reliability
- Responsible for the overall reliability and uptime of brewing plant
- Lead the engineering team in the provision of asset care and engineering support to the shift based production teams
- Verifies that engineering team are carrying out routine and planned maintenance, and validates quality of work
- Verifies that the maintenance systems are working properly and that data integrity and information accuracy maintained
- Reviews plant reliability to ensure equipment is operating optimally and to identify problems or opportunities timeously
- Takes part in maintenance problem solving, and ensure that engineering team is applying the correct problem-solving techniques
Plant Optimisation
- Takes part in regional and central office plant optimization trials, providing advice, assistance and guidance where required
- Evaluates impact of new plant and equipment, and signs off all plant modifications and changes
- Analyses plant performance data to identify opportunities for improvement to plant performance, and initiates opportunity evaluation
Key Attributes and Competencies:
- Ability to ensure that all equipment and resources are available for an effective maintenance system
- Ability to manage and ensure an effective spares stock levels and to ensure that costs are within budget
- Ability to ensure that principles of VPO are implemented within brewing department
- Ability to ensure that plant start-ups and shutdowns are done safely and properly
- Knowledge of the OH&S Act and NOSA standards
- Analytical and evaluative skills
- Conceptual skills
- Ability to effect good HR processes to ensure that people are disciplined, motivated, developed and properly managed to ensure effective team performance
- Government Certificate of Competence would be an advantage

- BSc Engineering or equivalent tertiary education
- 3-5 years as a Section Engineer ideally in an FMCG company

7. Job Title: Checker
Key Purpose
The Key Purpose of this role is to facilitate the inventory process, ensure accurate invoicing and crediting of empties, support on stock counts while maintaining our governance and customer service standards.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Adherence to health, safety and environmental standards
- To ensure that company and legal stacking regulations are adhered to
- Adherence to and maintenance of site housekeeping standards
- Wearing the correct PPE at all times as designated by site and area
- Full implementation and adherence to VPO and DPO protocols
Loading and Unloading Activities
- Load summary is used to load correct quantities of split and full pallets
- To ensure loading/unloading of products is done as per processes, all products are counted, both at load location and unload locations, and delivery documents are duly signed and issued
Stock quality management
- Ensure adherence to warehouse stock age standards by means of applying stock rotation principles
- Ensures quality control through checking packaging on warehouse floor prior to loading
- Full implementation and adherence to VPO and DPO protocols
Inventory management
- Participate in handover processes before and after every shift
- Accurate daily stock counts, duly signed off
- Maintain clear and effective communication with Inventory Analyst/Clerk and or Stocks and Settlement Officer
Cost control
- To observe standard provided for fuel usage per hour, reduce idling time, no excessive breaking etc
- To ensure breakages and missing bottles are eliminated to zero by following safe driving principles
