Job Title: Machine Operator
Key Activities:
- Responsible for ensuring that bleached oil required for saponification are made available on time and in full.
- He is responsible for ensuring the required quantity of bleaching earth and phosphoric acid are added at the right time and quantity to ensure oil is bleached to the required quality standard.
- Responsible for transferring bleached and filtered oil from intermediate Tank 6A or B to the appropriate tank at pan room tank farm.
- Responsible for sampling oil under filtration to confirm colour.
- Responsible for sampling spent earth and depositing same at the Quality Control lab.
- Ensure compliance to all Business Unit SOP’s and SOC’s (Standard Operating Conditions) and that all operations comply with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), safety standards and provisions.
- Supporting in the washing of bleaching ground floor and other housekeeping activities.
- Understand roles and responsibilities and the importance of conformity with the Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
- Implements and complies with Environmental Management System requirements relating to environmental aspects and impacts and other policies, procedures and /or regulations applicable to.
- Documenting all his operations as is required and necessary.
- Performing other tasks and activities as could be delegated by the Bleacher operator and Process supervisor.
- Avoid Spillages when handling raw materials and semi-finished goods.
