This special scholarship edition is dedicated to supporting outstanding students from NLNG’s host communities by providing financial aid for their postgraduate studies at recognized universities in the United Kingdom (UK).
The PGSS Special Edition aims to promote educational development, empower talented students, and invest in Nigeria’s future leaders, especially in critical fields that will benefit their communities and Nigeria as a whole.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for this scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Citizenship and Residency:
- Must be a citizen of Nigeria and an indigene of one of NLNG’s host communities.
- Proof of indigene status is required, confirmed by a letter signed by the Community Development Committee (CDC) Chairman or Chief and a letter of identification from the Local Government Council.
- Educational Qualifications:
- Must have completed a relevant undergraduate degree with a minimum of Second Class Honours (Upper Division) from a Nigerian university.
- Must be currently enrolled in a recognized public university in the United Kingdom.
- Accepted Fields of Study:
- The scholarship applies to students studying the following postgraduate programs:
- MSc Civil Engineering
- MSc Computer Science/Information Technology
- MSc Mechanical Engineering
- MSc Chemical Engineering
- MSc Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- MSc Petroleum/Gas Engineering
- MSc Environmental Science
- MSc Robotics Engineering and/or Artificial Intelligence
- MSc Renewable Energy and Climate Studies
- The scholarship applies to students studying the following postgraduate programs:
- Language Proficiency:
- Applicants must have achieved a minimum score in one of the following English language proficiency tests:
- IELTS: Minimum of 8.0 overall with at least 7.0 in each element
- TOEFL: 102
- Pearson Test of English (PTE): 73–79
- Applicants must have achieved a minimum score in one of the following English language proficiency tests:
- Other Requirements:
- Must be under 30 years of age at the time of application.
- Completed the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) program.
- Possess a domiciliary bank account (GBP and USD) with GT Bank or First Bank.
- Demonstrate academic excellence, leadership ability, and a clear vision for contributing to their community and Nigeria.
- Must not be a beneficiary of any other scholarship, bursary, or grant.
- Must not be related (spouse, child, ward, or direct relation) to any NLNG staff member.
Application Procedure
- Prepare Documents: Ensure you have clear, scanned copies of the following documents, appropriately named for easy identification:
- Passport photograph with a white background (recent, 450px by 450px, max 200KB)
- First degree certificate
- NYSC discharge certificate
- Provisional admission letter from a UK university
- IELTS/TOEFL/PTE results
- Local Government Area (LGA) identification letter
- NLNG Host Community indigene confirmation letter
- Employer consent letter (if applicable)
- Steps to Apply: a. Visit the official scholarship site at NLNG PGSS Application Site. b. Click on “Register” to create an account using your personal email address. c. Check your email for an account activation link, then proceed to log in. d. Complete your profile by filling in your personal, educational, and other required information. e. Upload all required documents carefully, ensuring each document aligns with the application requirements. f. Review all uploaded documents to avoid errors. g. Submit the application by clicking “Apply Now” and await confirmation via email.

- Ensure that all names on your documents appear in the same order across all documents.
- Only use your own email to register; do not use a relative’s email, and do not update records using someone else’s Scholastica account.
