Eligibility Requirements for 2026 Arrell Scholarships University of Guelph in Canada
To qualify for the Arrell Scholarship, applicants must:
- Be entering a Master’s program at the University of Guelph
- Begin studies in the Fall semester following the application deadline
- Hold a minimum first-class (A-) admission average
- Propose research aligned with the Arrell Food Institute’s mission, such as food security, nutrition, plant science, consumer behavior, or sustainable agri-food systems
- Receive an offer of admission to an eligible graduate program
In special circumstances, students may request approval to defer the start of the award.
Documents Required
A complete Arrell Scholarship application includes:
- Statement of research interests and personal motivation (maximum two pages, plus one page for citations)
- Current academic or professional CV
- Unofficial academic transcripts
- One reference letter from the proposed supervisor, submitted directly to the university
Applicants must also submit a separate and complete graduate program application with all required supporting documents.

Both the graduate program application and the Arrell Scholarship application must be fully completed by this date.
