To qualify for the University of Glasgow Sanctuary Scholarship, applicants must meet all of the following conditions:

  • Hold a firm conditional or unconditional offer for full-time study starting in the 2026/27 academic year
  • Be currently living in the United Kingdom with Home or Rest of UK fee status
  • Have refugee status, humanitarian protection, discretionary leave, or an active asylum claim or appeal

Applicants are also eligible if they arrived in the UK through official resettlement schemes, including UK Resettlement, Afghan and Ukrainian support schemes, and similar programs.

The scholarship is not available for part-time courses, PGDip, or PGDE programmes.

Documents Required

Applications will not be considered without valid supporting documents. Depending on your immigration situation, you must submit one of the following:

  • Application Registration Card or Biometric Residence Permit (front and back)
  • Immigration Bail or Temporary Admission documentation, if applicable
  • Recent Home Office correspondence showing your reference number
  • A valid UK government share code proving your right to study

All documents must be clear and up to date.
